During the past several years, UMass Memorial Laboratories has developed an extensive reference testing service that is utilized by laboratories throughout New England.

A cornerstone of this activity is the availability of numerous very complicated, technically demanding tests, which many laboratories simply cannot justify maintaining as part of their test menu. Because of the nature of the patient population at UMass Memorial Health Care, we have developed these more esoteric testing capabilities and now maintain them as routine procedures. They supplement an extensive general laboratory service that you would expect to find in a large, tertiary care, referral hospital connected to a medical school. In addition, we benefit from having full-time, doctoral-level directors with specialty expertise in each of our laboratory sections.

As part of our commitment to establishing a truly comprehensive diagnostic service for our partners, we also offer the consultative expertise of our department directors. We appreciate your consideration in this manner and welcome your inquiries.
