Collect	Green (Sodium Heparin)
	Unacceptable	1. Plasma specimens received thawed or partially frozen 2. Whole blood specimens received in the laboratory >30 minutes after collection 3. Whole blood specimens received in the laboratory without collection time on specimen or requisition 4.Whole blood specimens received frozen
	Transport	Frozen on Dry Ice (-70C)
	Minimum Volume	1.0 mL Plasma
	Remarks	Dry Ice is required for specimen storage and transport.
	Notes	1. Do not use tourniquet. 2. Patient should not clench fist during collection. 3. Patient should avoid smoking for at least 4-6 hours before phlebotomy. 4. Collect blood in a pre chilled sodium heparin tube. 5. Mix and Centrifuge immediately. 6. Remove plasma and place in separate vial (transport tube). 7. Place the transport tube on dry ice (-70C) within 30 minutes.
