| Notes | 1. Pre warm one Plain Red top Vacutainer tube in a 37ºC water bath. A minimum of 2 mL of serum is a must for this test. 2. Collect blood in this tube, label, and immediately place in the 37ºC water bath. Set the timer for 60 minutes. 3. At the end of the 60 minutes, centrifuge the tubes in the small centrifuge for 3 minutes. DO NOT SPIN THE SPECIMENS ANY LONGER, as it may cause the temperature of the serum to cool down. 4. Aliquot the serum into a transport tube. 5. Label the transport tube appropriately using Meditech labels if available. Mark the tube as “SERUM”. 6. Transport the specimen at ROOM TEMPERATURE. Do not refrigerate or freeze at any time. Proper collection and transport of specimen is critical to the outcome of the assay. | |
