Collect	QuantiFERON Kit
	Transport	CRITICAL Room Temperature
	Remarks	Samples can only be drawn Monday thru Friday. Samples cannot be drawn on holidays or the day prior to a holiday. Sample must be transported to the UMASS Lab at ROOM TEMPERATURE within 16 hours of collection.
	Notes	1) Obtain the special QuantiFeron TB Gold Tube Collection Kit from UMASS Lab. 2) Tubes should be at ROOM TEMPERATURE at the time of blood filling. 3) Collect: 1 mL whole blood in each of the three Cellestis QuantiFeron-TB Gold collection tubes (Nil, TB, and Mitogen) 4) Immediately after filling tubes, invert them ten (10) times just firmly enough to ensure the entire inner surface of the tube is coated with blood, to solubilize antigens on tube walls. Over-energetic shaking may cause gel disruption and could lead to aberrant results. 5) Label each tube with the patient identification information and the time of draw.
