Collect	Sample required is one lavender top tube of peripheral blood or one EDTA tube of bone marrow or one cubic cm. of fresh, unfixed lymph node or extra nodal tissue or fluids including FNA, ascites, pleural fluid and CSF. Tissue samples should be placed in HBSS or sterile saline and kept refrigerated at 40 C.
	Transport	Fresh tissue and fluids ASAP, refrigerated. Blood/Bone marrow at room temp within 24hr.
	Minimum Volume	4 mL peripheral Blood, 2 mL bone marrow
	Remarks	This test includes morphologic interpretation, immunophenotype performed by flow cytometry
	Notes	"In case of a new diagnosis acute leukemia, contact the Anatomic Pathology Office at 508-793-6100 for the Hematopathologist on service. All specimens must have two forms of patient identification on them and be accompanied by a Flow Cytometry Requisition that includes the patient name, medical record number, source of specimen and the submitting physician’s name. An adequate clinical history including pertinent lab findings is essential. Missing information may result in a delay of the pathology report. Submit all specimens including night and weekend specimens to Central Processing. "
